I intend to share my experience when I was in the radio station. I had guests Tutik and Diroh. At the time I knew Tutik has just graduated from campus and Diroh still studies.
At R-lisa FM Jepara
I had asked Diroh what she was going to do after completing study, then she ended up staring at me in confusion.
This story linked with a TEDx video that was able to open my eye to not to ask the same question.
After I had watched it I realized that I was probably wrong. I guess that was straight forward question.
I should have approached in different ways. For instance, what is your story, what was your volunteer and extracurricular activity you have had, what makes you happy today. I highlight those are easier quiries to answer.
I find if I demand an answer from university students about their plans after graduation sounds to direct and perhaps considers inappropriate.
I should think to question their own story. This makes them easing to reply and to elaborate the plans they have already had.
Hopefully you have obtained useful information so that you can choose appropriate questions in the future.
